Board of Directors

CASA of the 16th Board Members have the responsibility to ensure that the program does the best work possible in pursuing its mission of recruiting, training and supporting volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system.
The Board of Directors of CASA of the 16th represents the interests of the public by strategically setting the direction for the organization and ensuring the organization’s work is consistent with its public benefit purpose and that the organization’s resources are being utilized in support of the mission.

The Board of Directors has a fiduciary duty to CASA to ensure that CASA is financially viable and sustainable and safeguards against misuse, waste and fraud. A principal Board responsibility is to engage in ongoing relationship management activities.

The Board of Directors is comprised of no fewer than 5 and no more than 20 voting members who assume governance and fiduciary responsibility for the organization. Board Members are elected to a term of 3 years but may serve no more than 3 consecutive terms.
